What is a profile?
A profile is your public digital business card. It holds your contact info, links, and headline, and lives at a shareable address you control.
What is a trackable link?
A unique link or QR code for your profile. Create different ones for different contexts (a conference, an email signature) so you can see which channels actually drive views.
What is a referral?
A referral is a placeholder you create for someone who is not on Cliquey yet, so you can keep notes and ratings about them. If they later join, they can claim it.
What are trust circles?
A way to organize your network into Inner Circle, Extended Circles, and Other Contacts. You choose which encrypted notes and stories each circle can see.
How do professional ratings work?
You rate people you have worked with across six dimensions (payment reliability, communication, professionalism, and more). Ratings are private due diligence. They are never shown publicly as who-rated-whom, and they feed an aggregate trust score.
What is the vault and why do I need it?
Your vault password encrypts your private notes and circle notes on your device before they reach our servers. We never see your vault password and cannot read this data. Only you can.
What happens if I forget my vault password?
It cannot be reset and the encrypted data cannot be recovered. This is by design (zero-knowledge). Choose a strong password you will remember, and keep it safe.
What is public and what is private?
Public: your profile, projects, and aggregate trust score. Private: your professional ratings (who you rated), trust-circle membership, encrypted stories, and messages. You can also opt out of public discovery in Settings.
How do I appear in (or hide from) public discovery?
Go to Settings → Public Discovery and toggle "Appear in public discovery". Your private trust data is never shown publicly regardless of this setting.
